Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Music Folks (musicfolks.com) collects when you visit, how it is used, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as possible.
Visit Statistics
We count visits with Koko Analytics, a statistics tool that runs on our own server. It does not use cookies, does not share data with third parties, and stores only totals such as page views, visitors and referring websites. It does not store your IP address or build a profile of you.
Server Logs
Like almost every website, our web server automatically keeps technical logs of requests, which can include your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used only to keep the site secure and working and are not used to identify visitors.
Contact Form
If you use our contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you enter. We use them only to read and, where appropriate, answer your message. Messages are delivered to us by email through an email delivery service. We do not add you to any mailing list. The form uses a hidden spam trap (no tracking, no third-party CAPTCHA).
Cookies
Music Folks does not set cookies for visitors. If you never log in to the site, no cookies are stored by us. WordPress sets cookies only for people who log in to manage the site.
What We Don’t Do
- No advertising or ad tracking
- No social media tracking pixels or embedded share widgets
- No third-party fonts or analytics services
- No selling or sharing of personal information
Links to Other Websites
Our posts link to the sources we used, such as Wikipedia and music publications. Those websites have their own privacy policies, which apply when you visit them.
Comments
Comments are turned off, so we don’t collect any information through comments.
Keeping Information
Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with them. Server logs are deleted automatically after a short period. Visit statistics are stored as totals and deleted after 36 months.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it is used. To make a request, use the contact form.
Children
Music Folks is a general-interest music site and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
